Welcome to our Year 2 class page!

Welcome to our class – we are so excited to begin a fun-filled learning adventure together! This year we’ll travel through time in history to explore our local past, meet daring explorers, and enjoy the magic of the Victorian seaside. In geography, we’ll journey close to home and far across the world as we discover our local area, learn about Nigeria, and explore the wonders of weather and seasons. In science, we’ll become curious investigators, asking questions and making discoveries about animals, plants, and different materials. Our creativity will shine too – from stick transformations and expressive painting to printing, making smoothies, building shelters, and even sewing our own puppets!

Our literacy journey will take us into some truly magical books. We’ll meet the tiny but mysterious Bog Baby hiding in a pond, step into Simon Sock’s colourful world of odd socks and friendship, wander Into the Forest to discover surprising tales along the way, and even hear the crayons speak for themselves in The Day the Crayons Quit! Each story will inspire us to imagine, create, and bring our own ideas to life in reading, writing, and drama.
