Welcome to Year 1
Class Teacher: Mr Breen
Teaching Assistant: Miss Campbell, Miss H Harper and Mrs Mernek
Welcome to Year 1!
We are excited to have your little ones with us this year. In history, we’ll explore The Great Fire of London and the history of toys, while in science, we’ll investigate plants and animals. Our geography lessons will take us around the globe to understand weather patterns and the beauty of different environments.
Creativity will shine as we become artists, creating spiral art and sculptures. In Design and Technology, students will design moving picture books and playground equipment for their toys! We’ll enjoy fabulous stories, including Where the Wild Things Are, Beegu, classic tales like The Gingerbread Man and Jack and the Beanstalk, and delightful books from Julia Donaldson.
Parents, please keep an eye on this webpage for important updates. Below, you’ll find useful links and resources to support your child’s learning at home. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead in Year 1!
