Our Year 6 were assisted by students from Liverpool John Moores University to plant a hedge row for future children to enjoy.

Today we have had Susan, the artist, come into help us make our very own St. Albert’s giant following the Giants visit to Liverpool. We used paper maché to create the face, hands and feet and the used wool to create it’s ginger hair and beard! As we have been focusing on The Selfish Giant in our English lessons, we also created a backdrop for our retelling of the story and created blossoms out of tissue paper to represent the spring time in the story.

On Friday afternoon we welcomed an Olympian to school to launch our Travel to Tokyo challenge. Bianca Walkden is an Olympic Bronze Medallist in Taekwondo. It was a privilege to have her visit the school and share her journey to bronze and ambitions for gold.

Year 1 went to Knowsley Safari Park on Monday. They started the day exploring the foot Safari. They saw the Meerkats, Giraffes, Wolves and The Birds of Prey. They then went into the classroom and classified animals. The children loved stroking Elsa, a Boa Constrictor, and feeling her skin she had recently shed. They went to explore the Tigers on foot and discovered how to tell tigers apart from their stripes. Finally, we got on the bus and went on our Safari drive where we learnt about Rhinos.
